I worked as the 3D Art Generalist for the indie title PLANET ALPHA.
My responsibilities were to produce the majority of assets needed: Flora, fauna, alien architecture, enemies and so on. I also created most animations except from the player character and a few others.
During development we had a focus on both the environment and its inhabitants reacting to the day and night cycle. Large amount of assets therefore required physical changes in materials/shaders, shape and/or animation.
I mainly used Blender, Photoshop and Unreal Engine 4.
We developed the unique visuals with heavy use of vertex colors(organics) and procedural remeshing(triangular and faceted rocks/metals). Textures were generally avoided but used here and there for especially leafy and grassy foliages or tech art solutions.
Developed by a small dedicated group of people and available on PC, Xbox, Playstation and Nintendo Switch.
